Seattle, WA – With the Major League Baseball lockout entering its 37th day, the San Diego Padres’ Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Blake Snell is making the most of his time in the off-season to give back to the youth of his hometown in Seattle. Partnering with him is legendary Philadelphia Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long to give aspiring young baseball players unparalleled instruction and the chance to make it to the big leagues, just like Blake.
Players attending the camp will learn professional-level tips and tricks, watch demonstrations, and participate in a question & answer session with Blake Snell and Coach Long. Each player will then have the opportunity to take a photo with the pros.
Helping to educate the next generation of baseball players comes naturally to Blake Snell. As a franchise partner with Scholars, the award-winning tutoring system, Blake is already committed to providing cutting-edge educational support to students of all backgrounds.
Scholars is proud to sponsor this event, presented by Showcase Sports NW, a premier baseball training facility located in Shoreline, WA. More details and registration information can be found at https://www.showcasesportsnw.com/camps
“This camp is an opportunity for me to pass along some of the lessons I have been fortunate to learn. Hopefully this weekend will inspire the next great ball player from the Pacific Northwest.” – Blake Snell
